The 14th International "Organic Computing Doctoral Dissertation Colloquium“ (OC-DDC 2026) The Organic Computing Doctoral Dissertation Colloquium (OC-DDC) is organised by the Special Interest Group on Organic Computing within the Gesellschaft für Informatik. The 2026 edition will take place at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, from June 11-12, 2026. Details on the event (and its predecessors) are available at: https://sites.google.com/view/ocddc-2026 We invite applications from PhD students at any stage of their doctoral studies on Organic Computing, Autonomic Computing, intelligent systems, self-adaptation and self-organisation, self-aware computing systems, autonomous learning, self-* mechanisms, trustworthy systems, and related research topics. ==* Colloquium Theme *== The intent of the DDC is to bring together PhD students who have their research focus within the broader Organic Computing community and will not have defended their thesis before June 2026. The main goal of this colloquium is to foster excellence in OC‐related research by providing students with feedback and advice that are particularly relevant to their doctoral studies and career development. Each participant will take part in the colloquium organisation and the review process for the other participants. Keynote speakers will present current research in the field. They will be available during the OC‐DDC and participate in the feedback process for the PhD students. Details on the keynote speakers will be available as soon as possible (see website). The schedule includes: - Prepare an extended abstract or short paper of 6 pages (max.) reflecting your PhD concept - Participate in the review process - Participate in the (supervised) decision process (acceptance of submissions) - Present your work to an audience consisting mainly of other PhD students from your community - Identify points of contact between your work and others - Build your social research network - Meet experts in your research domain and listen to their invited talks and expertise - Enjoy the opportunity to improve your PhD work, overcome stipulations and learn from the experts ==* Important Dates *== - Paper submission deadline: April 13, 2026 May 3, 2026 AoE (Final Extension) - Review Deadline: May 15, 2026 June 1, 2026 - Conference Dates: June 11-12, 2026 ==* Submission *== PhD students are invited to participate by submitting an extended abstract of up to 6 pages (including references and figures). Papers must be written in English. Papers should be formatted according to Springer LNCS style (see: https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-gui...) and submitted via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences?conf=ocddc2026. The OC-DDC papers are about personal projects, so please note that the submission should be single-authored (supervisors can be mentioned in the acknowledgements). The paper should motivate the PhD project and describe the relation to OC (e.g., based on https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-68477-2 or https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.1701.08125). Additionally, the paper should outline key research questions driving the doctoral project and describe the general approach or methodology used to address them. Therefore, providing sufficient foundational information is essential to help readers understand the context. After the OC-DDC, each participant will be invited to prepare a book chapter for an edited book. The book chapter will contain approx. 14 pages.
