Liebe Liste, gern leite ich den untenstehenden Call von Lennard Landgraf <lennard.landgraf(a)web.de> weiter. ------------------------- im Mai 2026 organisiert das Center for Science and Thought der Uni Bonn gemeinsam mit unseren Projekt:partnerinnen der Universität Cambridge die zweite große Desirable AI-Konferenz im Rahmen des von der Stiftung Mercator geförderten Forschungsprojekts zu 'Wünschenswerter Digitalisierung' (Projektleitung Prof. Markus Gabriel). Seit Anfang der Woche ist unser Call for Papers veröffentlicht und wir würden uns freuen, wenn Sie bereit wären, den Call im Fachbereich Informatik und Gesellschaft zu teilen, zum Beispiel über Ihre Mailingliste. Traditional HRI research often revolved around static models and narrowly focused dynamics, with robots programmed under limited and predefined contexts. However, recent studies underline a substantial need for frameworks that are adaptive, context-sensitive, and capable of evolving beyond these foundational models. Yet, there remains an array of unaddressed challenges, which, if tackled, could revolutionize the robustness and applicability of robot integrations in daily human interactions. This Research Topic aims to bridge the existing gaps within the HRI field by scrutinizing and pushing past the traditional frameworks used to analyze human-robot interactions. The goal is to unveil new facets of robot personality, enhance the adaptability of robotic behaviors in real-time scenarios, and delve deeper into the multimodal interactions within human-robot relationships over extended periods. Beyond expanding theoretical boundaries, this Research Topic seeks to test and validate new models that could predict and improve the dynamics of future human-robot interactions, drastically impacting the design and functionality of robots in various sectors. We explicitly welcome contributions that explore different types of models/frameworks relevant to HRI, including: ● ecosystems and data infrastructures for configuring and managing robots across diverse contexts of use, ● frameworks or models for analyzing HRI from psychological, sociological, or interactional perspectives, ● and theoretical models of interaction dynamics between humans and robots over time. Within these areas, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes: ● Ecosystems for configuring and managing robots in healthy aging. ● Frameworks for studying and analyzing multi actor human-robot interaction ● Models for analyzing the impact of differing contexts on human-robot interaction dynamics. ● Implementations and impacts of non-traditional personality models in robot design. ● Context-moderation models (social, trust, task, personalization) estimating how settings or user factors modulate outcomes from adapted robot behaviors. ● Methodological frameworks and theoretical expansions in human-robot companionship studies. This Research Topic encourages interdisciplinary submissions analyzing ethical, psychological, and societal impacts pivotal to the development and deployment of robots, especially in sensitive areas like healthcare and therapy. Liebe alle *Kulturelles Erbe *prägt Identität, ist aber vielerorts durch Erosion, Konflikte oder Naturkatastrophen bedroht. Digitale Technologien wie 3D-Scanning, XR/VR und KI können genutzt werden, um Kulturerbe zu bewahren und für ein breites Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Seit drei Jahren arbeiten deutsche Hochschulen mit Universitäten im Irak, Kurdistan-Irak, Jordanien, Libanon, Oman und Sudan zusammen, um Studierenden aus Krisenregionen die Online Teilnahme an projektbezogenen Kursen zu ermöglichen. Gemeinsames Thema der Projekte ist die Digitalisierung kulturellen Erbes, ein Thema was in durch Kriege geprägten Regionen eine besondere (traurige) Bedeutung hat. On the one hand, AI-enabled applications are being marketed as enhancements to human cognition and as positive contributors to productivity and efficiency. On the other hand, researchers have raised concerns against indiscriminate adoption of AI technologies, and have argued that, in order for AI to make a positive contribution to the human condition, it is crucial that AI development be aligned with human values. One of the core challenges is to design AI-based applications to prevent harm, and foster human psychological well-being (PWB), which has two main conceptualizations. The hedonic view considers the presence of positive affect and absence of negative affect (i.e. positive user experience) as a sign of PWB; the eudaimonic view focuses on those motivations, dispositions and activities which lead to flourishing or functioning well, and whose presence can be evaluated by the extent to which one senses meaning, growth, positive relationships, excellence and autonomy in various spheres of one's life. This perspective is endorsed by theories such as Self-Determination Theory (SDT). Furthermore, researchers also argue that eudaimonic well-being also relies on an ethical core -- for to live well, we need to develop those virtues which help us choose well between a range of competing goals and desires, and guide our behavior in everyday situations. As developments in AI increasingly allow us to integrate them in various professional and personal activities, the nature and scope of this integration could potentially transform what we value, along with our attitudes and experiences in, these activities. Consequently, this may also affect the extent to which we can attain the aforementioned constituents of PWB. Either way, whether AI-based technologies are designed, evaluated, and deployed with a view of PWB in mind will have profound cognitive and affective consequences on users. The aim of this book volume is to gather multidisciplinary perspectives on harnessing the potential of AI to enhance PWB. We invite researchers from different disciplines (information systems, computer science, social sciences and philosophy) to contribute to the current state of research on designing and evaluating the algorithmic and interactive aspects of AI with the aim of enhancing PWB.
